There are tens and thousands of biographies that exist throughout literature, but few will change our lives. I have been reading and researching for a long time about why only a few people are called successful, and the answer seems to be simple: Because they changed their crises into opportunities and now the world calls them successful people, legends, leaders, game changers, etc. You will have heard of a few highly successful people like Helen Keller, Thomas Edison, Steve Jobs, Henry Ford, Walt Disney, Ludwig van Beethoven, Alexander Graham Bell, Mother Theresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Franklin D Roosevelt, Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr, Barack Obama, George Washington, Nelson Mandela, Nick Vujicici, Abdul Kalam and the list goes on.
These successful people converted their mistakes into history, Obstacles into Opportunity, Failure into Fortune, Mess into Message, Misery into Mastery, Tragedy into Triumph, Pain into Pleasure and so on and so forth. They faced unimaginable crises in their life and changed them into opportunities.
Let us take a small life lesson from Steve,
You know who Steve Jobs is.
He changed the world; no question about that. He inspired many people around the world and he has shown that it’s possible to be successful no matter what happens to you – good or bad.
He dealt with a number of crises throughout his life and career.
But how did he convert those crises into opportunity?
The lesson that I learned from Steve Jobs is simple:
- In a speech at Stanford University, he said, “I was out” and then he added“I was very publicly out”.
He was publicly out. That was his crisis but he persisted in his dreams, didn’t give up, and with incredible tenacity he continued in his passion to build something creative that would change the world.
Some people thrive on adversity and use it as their fuel for success. Steve is one of the great examples of this.
Crisis: Steve was fired from Apple in 1985.
He wanted to prove his early success at Apple wasn’t a fluke.
In 1986 Steve founded NeXT, a high-end computer company. NeXT combined powerful hardware and software in ways that had never been done before.
In 1997, ironically, Apple acquired NeXT for $429 million, and the following year Steve became Apple’s CEO, driving the company to its greatest successes, from the iPod to the iPhone to the iPad.
The merger promised to marry software from NeXT with Apple’s hardware platforms, eventually resulting in OS X, iOS, and watchOS.

2. Later, Steve founded NeXT 1986. Jobs purchased the Computer Graphics Division of George Lucas’ Lucasfilm, and established an independent company, renamed as “Pixar.” Pixar is now the most successful animation studio in the world with masterpieces such as Toy Story, CARS, and The Incredible in their portfolio.

In 2006, the Walt Disney Company bought Pixar for $7.4 billion. The transaction made Jobs the largest shareholder in Disney.
The story goes on and on. What is the bottom line? Crises, Opportunity and from there to Miracles.
How did he make it all come together?
Jobs put it this way in his speech to Stanford graduates:
“I’m pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn’t been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love.”
I believe in the same philosophy. First you need to find out what it is that you love, and then you’ve got to do what you love to do. Along the way you may incur a lot of ups and down, pitfalls, setbacks, critics even more than that. Use it all as fuel towards your success.
“Don’t Settle”
Don’t settle down. Never give up. Have faith. Dig deeper into your passion, be persistent, keep moving forward and believe in yourself, believe that you are going to make miracles.
Life has given you another chance. Use it wisely. Despite life’s tragedies, temporary setbacks, catastrophic situations, and unanticipated problems, you are still alive, you are still breathing.
In the midst of any crisis in life and career, follow these two simple guidelines:
- Strengthen yourself physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally.
- Face any crisis or adversity head on. Believe that you are greater than anything that has happened, or anything that will happen to you.
Yes YOU can,
because YOU are something special,
YOU have a greatness within YOU,
YOU have a Miracle Within YOU and
YOU have a genius within YOU.
YOU are unstoppable and invincible.
In my opinion, facing crisis is one of the best ways to reach the next level in life. #Life and Career: Next Level
